Corey Smith is a singer/songwriter from Georgia. After graduating from UGA, he began a
teaching career and married his college sweetheart, Shannon. Soon after, he won a
songwriting competition, earning the chance to record his first album. Encouraged by the
reception, he recorded his sophomore album in 2004. Corey now has two sons and has
released five albums. In 2009 finds him continuing to write and embarking on a high-energy,

This video is of Corey singing "Be the Change" to African youth during his 2007 trip to South Africa.
While there, he visited the informal townships most affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic and observed
Be The Change International and its partners' HIV/AIDS youth peer-to-peer education & prevention programs
and orphanages caring for the more than 14 million children left orphaned & vulnerable in sub-Saharan Africa.
